At the invitation of the Counter Extremism Project, historian Dan Snow visited the former house of Rudolf Höss, commandant of Auschwitz, located directly next to the site of the infamous Nazi concentration camp in Oświęcim, Poland. Höss, who masterminded and implemented the murder of more than a million people, was hanged for crimes against humanity mere yards from the house, where he had lived with his wife and five children.

The Counter Extremism Project purchased the house and is transforming it into a center dedicated to fighting against antisemitism, hatred, and extremism in its myriad forms. This project is called the Auschwitz Research Center on Hate, Extremism and Radicalization (ARCHER) at House 88.
